It has been said that Belgium has no or almost no famous Belgians. This is a huge understatement that I want to wipe right off the map. We have many different kinds of celebrities who are famous in other countries. We have singers, musicians, actors, athletes and other celebrities who have taken the world by storm.

Some famous musicians, composers or inventors of musical instruments are Toots Tielemans and Adolph Sax.

Some famous actors from Belgium are Matthais Schoenaerts and Jean-Claude Vandamme.

Some famous athletes are Eden Hazard, Kim Clijsters, Eddy Merckx and Max Verstappen.

A famous Belgian writer was Marguerite Yourcenar.
